Raw Card Condition Guide

Raw Card Condition Guide

At BREAKAWAY EVOLUTION, raw card condition is reviewed as carefully as possible before listing. Because raw trading cards are not professionally graded, all condition assessments are opinions based on visible inspection, product photos, and listing details.

Please review all photos before purchasing. The photos are part of the item description.

Near Mint

A Near Mint raw card may have very minimal wear, if any. The card should appear clean overall, but may still have minor imperfections such as slight edge wear, small surface marks, print lines, light corner wear, minor centering issues, or factory/manufacturing defects.

Near Mint does not guarantee a specific grade from PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC, or any other grading company.

Lightly Played

A Lightly Played card may show minor visible wear from handling or storage. This can include light edge wear, small corner whitening, minor surface scratches, light print lines, or slight imperfections on the front or back.

The card should still present well overall, but it is not flawless.

Moderately Played

A Moderately Played card has more noticeable wear. This may include visible edge wear, corner wear, whitening, surface scratches, scuffing, small indentations, light bends, or other handling marks.

The card is still collectible, but the condition issues are more noticeable.

Heavily Played

A Heavily Played card has significant wear. This may include heavy whitening, worn corners, surface damage, scratches, creases, bends, dents, staining, or other visible flaws.

These cards are best for collectors who are comfortable with lower-condition cards or who are buying for binder collections.

Damaged

A Damaged card has major condition issues. This may include creases, tears, water damage, heavy bends, peeling, writing, major dents, severe edge damage, or other serious flaws.

Damaged cards are sold as-is and should be carefully reviewed before purchase.

Important Notes

Raw cards are not guaranteed to receive any specific grade if submitted to a grading company.

Card condition can be subjective, and different collectors or grading companies may evaluate condition differently.

Lighting, reflections, sleeves, top loaders, and screen settings may affect how a card appears in photos.

Factory defects such as print lines, centering issues, roller marks, surface dimples, or foil imperfections may be present even on cards that appear clean.

By purchasing a raw card, you agree that you have reviewed the photos, title, description, and condition notes before checkout.
